I think what I like about this newly listed Thousand Oaks home is the interior remodel as much as the house itself. Having said that, it’s looks like a cute home and it’s in a good location — hitting the sweet spot of having views and being walkable at the same time. Its Walk Score is an impressive 92/100.

It’s a four-bedroom, two-bathroom Mediterranean at 806 Contra Costa Avenue. There’s a large open living room which looks out onto a garden with views of the Bay and Golden Gate. The listing talks of “classic 1920s details, an “epicurian” kitchen and a “five star hotel-like spa master suite”.

The house originally went on the market in November 2009 and then delisted a couple of times. Perhaps the remodel, by Oakland design company Scout, was a way to nudge a sale? It last sold in August 2008 for $834,000. Now priced at $1,195,000.

  1. Speaking of walkability, just up the Yosemite steps from here is 1992 Yosemite Rd (5/3 2154 sq.ft.) currently listed at $625k. Hmmmm, no photos of the downstairs that I can see. RealtyTrac is showing a date with the courthouse steps on 4/19 (with $910k owed). The Alameda County Recorders website confirms a NOTS was filed on 12/4/2009.

  2. A flip circa 2008; this should end well. There was a mechanics lien by RIGHT AWAY REDY MIX INC on 01/28/2009. According to the Alameda County Recorder’s website it doesn’t appear to have been released.
BTW, nice find. A quick walk down the steps to Solano Avenue.
